Please Help! We have received two items for the Family Shelter Service to date and one gift card. We have not collected anything for our adopted family. Rachel, a 17 year old girl, is suffering from cancer. She lives with her Grandmother and 11 year old sister, Emma. Can you help to make their Christmas a little brighter?
New toys, games, books, puzzles, frames, jewelry, lotions, stationary, age appropriate items, popcorn tins or holiday treats/candies are some examples you can send in. Thanks!
Please plan ahead. There will be a number of tests throughout the week prior to break. Please begin to study now.
Science – Students will become familiar with how the behaviors of animals help them meet their needs. In addition, they will also look at how living things of the past compare with those of today. The chapter 3 science test is scheduled for Thursday, December 18th. Please help your child review for the test.
Social Studies – The class will continue their study of the Southeast (chapter 7). The chapter 7 social studies test will be Tuesday, December 16th. Please help your child review for this test.
Great America reading sheets will be handed out to students this week in their reading class. Please ask your child about this.
Spelling – The lesson 14 spelling list will go home Monday. The test will be on Friday. Please help your child study for this test.
Language Arts – Students will finish their study of nouns this week. Singular possessive nouns and plural possessive nouns can be confusing. Please spend some extra time reviewing this concept with your child. The chapter 2 test over nouns will be Wednesday, December 16th.
Reading – This week the students will work on some culminating activities to A Christmas Carol. We will work with story structure along with summarizing. Later in the week, we will begin to read Wildfires. The class will work on summarizing, finding the main idea and supporting details, as well as ordering of events with this story.
